Kaleden is a small community of approximately 1,200, located approximately 10 miles or 5 minutes south of Penticton along Skaha Lake in the south Okanagan.

Vineyard on Maple Street

Kaleden is a hidden jewel of the Okanagan and is true to it's name - a combination of  "kalos" or beautiful in Greek and the biblical Eden.  The community  was established by James Ritchie in the early 1900's for growing fruit. The famous "Kaleden Cots" got their beginning here. From the community beginnings as a small orcharding community, we have evolved from fruit to to vineyards and have become a bedroom community of Penticton.

Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department

The village has a community hall, active volunteer fire department, post office, gas station, library, general/liquor store, elementary school and large waterfront park with access to the KVR  Rails to Trails. There are visitor accommodations at several B and B's, a resort and two campsites. Golf courses and several wineries are within a 15 - 30 minute drive from Kaleden.
