The Kaleden
Irrigation District is a community water system.
We operate
as an Improvement District under the local Government Services Act under the Ministry of
Community, Aboriginal and
Women's Services. (formerly Municipal Affairs). Improvement Districts are
autonomous local government bodies responsible for providing one or more
local services for the benefit of the residents of the community.
Improvement Districts are brought into existence by the province through a
Cabinet Order which authorizes the passage of a document known as a "Letters
Patent". Click to view
